We've Moved.
Electric City Cars has left the world of bricks and mortar behind, at least for the sales side of our business. You can still check out our vehicles and even arrange a test drive by contacting us by telephone or via email. We will bring any of our e-bikes, electric scooters, or low-speed electric cars and trucks to any location you choose in the Boston area.
The service end of the business continues to have a bricks and mortar presence thanks to our partnership with Metro Pedal Power. Service on your Electric City Cars vehicle will now be provided at Metro Pedal Power's spacious albeit subterranean facilty in Union Square, Somerville.

Massachusetts Low-Speed Vehicles Law Effective July 31, 2009
On January 15, 2009, Governor Patrick signed “Chapter 523 of the Laws of 2008, An Act Relative to the Operation of Low-Speed Motor Vehicles.” When the law goes into effect on July 31, 2009, Massachusetts will join the more than forty other states that allow “city cars” or “neighborhood electric vehicles” to operate on public roads. The Massachusetts law authorizes vehicles meeting Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 500 (see 49 C.F.R. § 571.500) to operate on roads on which the speed limit is 30 mph or less. The vehicles themselves must have a maximum speed of 25 mph. At Electric City Cars, we have been eagerly awaiting the low-speed vehicle legislation because all the cars and trucks we currently sell fall in this category. See City Car FAQs for more information on the regulations pertaining to low-speed vehicle legislation. Updated March 11, 2009.
